What to Expect on Your First DoggyDay Zoom
(and Why It’s Not as Awkward as You Think)

You got a match. You’re scheduled for a Zoom.
Now what?
If you’re getting nervous talking to a stranger, or wondering what you’re going to talk about — you’re not alone.
Here’s the thing: the first Zoom isn’t awkward, and it’s not a test.
It’s actually the reason this whole thing works.
Let’s talk about why it matters, what to expect, and how to show up — even if you’re feeling unsure.
Why We Start with a Zoom

DoggyDay isn’t a gig app.
You’re not booking a stranger. You’re meeting a neighbor.
And when you’re sharing dog time — whether you’re the owner or the dog lover — trust comes first.
That’s why every match begins with a short, casual Zoom call.
It’s a vibe check: get to know each other, ask a few questions, and see if it feels like a fit.
No scripts. No pressure. No fake small talk.
What Actually Happens on the Zoom

It’s a quick video call. Usually 15–30 minutes. Cameras on, but chill.
You both introduce yourselves, share a bit about your dogs (or dog experience), and talk about what you’re looking for.
Think:
- “What’s your dog’s daily routine like?”
- “What made you join DoggyDay?”
- “Any quirks or things I should know?”
- “What would feel like a good first hangout?”
What You’re Not Agreeing To

Let’s be clear: joining a Zoom doesn’t mean you’ve committed to anything beyond the Zoom.
You’re not on the hook for walks, sitting, or even following up.
If it doesn’t feel right, you say thanks, close the laptop, and we’ll keep looking.
If it does feel right, maybe you plan a short walk. A coffee stroll. A weekend meetup.
Something low-stakes and easy.
You’re allowed to take it slow. In fact, we encourage it.
How to Make the Zoom Not Weird
1. Be on time
Respect goes a long way.
2. Use your camera
People trust faces more than voice-only bubbles.
3. Be honest
If your dog pulls on leash or hates skateboards, say so.
If your schedule is all over the place, own it.
4. Ask lots of questions
You’re not being annoying. You’re being responsible. And people appreciate that.
5. Say what you want (or don’t want)
Not into sleepovers? Allergic to shedding breeds? Want to stick to walks only?
Good. That’s what this call is for.
You’re Not the Only One Wondering

We’ve heard it all – the what-if’s, the doubts, the questions.
We built DoggyDay specifically because these questions exist.
That’s why we:
- Start with Zooms
- Ask you to be honest (not perfect)
- Keep everything non-transactional
- Give you control over who you say yes to
If you’re still unsure, here’s your permission slip:
✌️You can say no, ask questions, or walk away at any point.
This only works when people feel safe being real.
